It’s worth renting a car in Reykjavík or directly on arrival at the KEF International Airport (to save you the cost of transfer) if you want to be able to move around without having to rely on public transport. Renting a car in Iceland gives you the freedom to explore towns and enjoy beautiful natural scenery at your own pace.
Can foreign tourists rent cars in Iceland?
Yes, foreigners can rent cars in Iceland. An international driver’s license isn’t a requirement for us at Fara Car Rental, but we do require a minimum of three years of driving experience.
